This Sunday marked the last race of The year for Team EJP. The goal of this fall racing season was made simple after Lane Shorey’s big get off this spring while trying to chase the Loretta Lynn’s dream. Patrick Prescott was the only athlete under the tent for the second half of the season, so the #199 went after a championship in the Maine Motocross Series. After a few bumps in the road Pat found his grove and by the end of the season had started winning races. Going into the final event at Hemond’s Motocross Park in Minot Maine, Prescott had a shot at winning a championship.

The day got going with great starts and strong finishes and Pat sitting in second in both classes after the first motos. His second moto in the 65 C class would not go so smooth. A late jump off the gate would result in Patrick getting tangled up with a first turn pile up. After wrestling with the bike to get going he would then deal with motor issues for most of the moto. Loosing power around the entire track, Pat kept himself moving trying to salvage what points he could. It was not until the last lap that the bike would finally come out off its funk, and Pat was able to make some passes to finish the day in 4th Overall. He would also collect a second overall in the Open class and leave the track with two 2nd place finishes in both 65 championship races.

Lane Shorey was givin’ the green light to ride a few weeks ago. He decided to wait however to let himself heal properly. That did not keep him from gearing up one last time and sending a few whips. He did not go out to compete, but instead just to bring a smile to his face, as well as everyone on Team EJP.

It has been a crazy season for everyone here with some mixed results. We could not have done it without our awesome sponsors and the support of everyone we see week in and week out.

Thank you, see you all in 2014!
