Coming off an incredible ride at the Wild Boar GNCC in Palatka Florida, Andy Mathieu kicked off his 2021 motocross season at the NESC season opener in Southwick Massachusetts. This will mark the first year that Andy is eligible for the 40 plus class and he took advantage of his first opportunity and put on a show!

The 53 kicked off his day with a holeshot in the 30 plus class.  He led a couple laps before Shane Kelleher and Cody Williams got by. The three would spend the day battling over podium positions with Andy eventually taking home a 3rd. Andy would also finish behind Shane in the first moto of the 40 plus class everything changed for the final moto of the day. Andy got a great start and managed to hold Kelleher off for the moto win and his first overall victory in the 40 plus!

Travis Steward ii got his 2021 season started at Winchester Speed Park’s opening race in New Hampshire. He got into his groove early getting solid starts and putting in the work to get comfortable on the bike again. The day ended with an epic battle for a top 5 finish with Blake Busa. Travis finished his Saturday with a 4th in the 50cc 4-6 and an 18th in the 50cc Open. On Sunday the #953 took to the cranberry fields and tried his luck against the competition at NCSC’s Capeway Rovers track in Middleboro Massachusetts. After 2 extremely fast first motos Travis was in place for a podium finish. His afternoon quickly came to a stop after a kicker put him over the bars and off the track. After a medical check and some relaxation he got back on the bike for his final moto and ended the weekend with a 12th in the 4-6 and an 11th in the Open.

Both Andy and Travis will search for a few more gate drops and practice in preparation for the Loretta Lynns area qualifier at Southwick in two weeks.
